The Legler Barn Museum and Depot is a division of the City of Lenexa Parks and Recreation Department that preserves, interprets, and designs programs and exhibits related to the history of the City of Lenexa for the time period from the arrival of the Shawnee Native Americans in this region until the present day. The museum does so by utilizing its current collections of books, documents, artifacts, and other cultural objects, preserving them, and interpreting them for the public by means of museum educational programs, lectures, public events, and publications.
The Legler Barn Museum and Depot strives to educate and raise public awareness about Lenexa’s history and legacies through collections, exhibits, programs, and research assistance in an easily accessible way.
